French satire Charlie Hebdo's take on Egypt protests

Provocative cover with a Koran, which 'doesn't stop the bullets'

PARIS, JULY 10 - The French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, at the centre of polemics last year over its caricature of the Prophet Mohammed, has published its latest issue with another provocative cover.

This time the 'inspiration' came from the recent protests in Egypt, in which dozens lost their lives. In a vignette against a blood red background entitled 'Killings in Egypt', there was a man in traditional Muslim attire gripping a Koran, through which a number of bullets had passed. The caption reads ''The Koran is a ...., but it doesn't stop the bullets''.
