... with a little help from a Saudi Princess!
Published on Jul 11, 2013
A woman identified as a Saudi princess was arrested and charged with human trafficking after a Kenyan woman, who had been working for her in California managed to escape and alerted the police. The 30 year old Kenyan is said to have flagged down a bus where she told one of the passengers she was a victim of human trafficking at the hands of 42-year-old Meshael Alayban. The Kenyan alleged that she got the employment to Saudi Arabia through a kenyan agency where she was promised 129 thousand shillings a month, working eight hours a day for five days a week. She however says that Alayban only paid her 18,000 shillings, forced her to work everyday for up to 16 hours a day. She also said that her employer confiscated her passport which she got back to facilitate her travel to the United States where she has been working. A us judge set bail for Alayban at approximately 430 million shillings and required her to submit to GPS monitoring. He also banned her from leaving the county without permission. Four other women were found in Alybans house although police say there was no indication that the women were physically abused or forcefully restrained.
