Help Pamela! ... Come Quick!
The "pro-Palestine" ad attack (below) is not new, … just new to Vancouver.
Seattle's Jewish community dealt with a similar situation in 2010 and are dealing with another one right now. … http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i5QfcgT42g … http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2013/07/pamela-geller-wnd-column--1.html
It's just another manifestation of the 3 "D's" of anti-Semitism ( Demonization, Double Standards, Delegitimization ) …. http://jcpa.org/phas/phas-sharansky-f04.htm
I see no problem with contacting Translink to take issue with their ad policy but I am not hopeful of a happy or timely result.
In my opinion, this approach has historically proven to be ineffectual. … See Seattle Bus ads 2010. … http://www.rabbidov.com/Israel%20&%20Mideast%20Commentaries/busads.htm
Complaining to the transit carrier does not address the core issue of this kind of smear campaign, … Anti-Semitism.
By not countering the ad campaign, members of the public, transit administration and "the other team" will perceive an acknowledgement and approval of the ads.
In 2010 Seattle's transit authority initially allowed a similar "4 bus" anti-israel ad campaign. …
If it were not for the efforts of Pamela Geller and David Horowitz these ads would have prevailed.
Pamela Geller and David Horowitz purchased 25 bus ads which countered the Palestinian lies. … http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2010/12/pamela-geller-big-government--2.html
In the end Seattle's transit authority cancelled the Palestinian lies ads … most likely because the transit authority just did not wish to bear the heat of involvement in the political arena.

Dear Friends, As our community prepares to observe the High Holidays, CIJA | Pacific Region and Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver would like to update you on an important and developing issue. It has come to our attention that a coalition of pro-Palestinian activists has purchased a series of anti-Israel advertisements for display at two SkyTrain stations and on the exterior of 15 buses in Vancouver beginning imminently. CIJA | Pacific Region has reviewed the ads in question. It is our assessment that these advertisements distort history, are malicious and essentially question the legitimacy of Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. We believe it is no coincidence that this advertising campaign will coincide with the sacred holy days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. TransLink—the regional transit authority—has a clearly defined set of advertising policies and guidelines, which restrict the display of ads that make public transit unwelcoming for any ethnic or racial group—the appropriateness of which has been affirmed by the Supreme Court of Canada. As the advocacy arm of Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, CIJA | Pacific Region has addressed this issue directly with TransLink—both with members of its Board and its Management—and has asked the transit authority to comply with its stated policies and withdraw its approval for the ads. TransLink has since confirmed that they have reviewed the matter and that they recognize the offensive and provocative nature of the advertisements. Despite our view that the advertisements contravene TransLink’s own policies, TransLink has decided to proceed with allowing the advertisements to be displayed. POINTS TO CONSIDER
